What determines the contents of the operative "group" in group karma, in your thinking, Sam? Race? Nationality? Religion? Geographical location? Generation? Family ties? Degree of economic advantage or lack thereof? Family descent? Gender? Height? Weight? Political affiliation? Social class membership?
Groups overlap. You might be a member of a karmically accursed group generationally speaking, by your way of thinking, I should think, but in a karmically blessed group racially or geographically.
But in any case, you feel, however the groups are constituted, and by whomever the contents of each group is determined, or should I say by Whomever... the innocent will suffer along with the guilty...Well, how could it not be the case, since all of us belong to so many groups?
As you can tell, Sam, I think this concept is not only implausible, but impracticable and unwieldy. I hope the great Whomever is mathematically inclined. |
