I enjoy Greenline/Waterhouse most of the time. My account is on the Greenline side, due to the number of trades I make on Canadian pennies. They have direct access to the exchanges, were as, most if not all American based brokerages must use an American market maker.

Actually I'm surprised that E-Trade has restrictions. Though many probably do if for instance you hold stock on margin or live outside the U.S.
