Can the way you think really be changed by an election? Do you really think that mine should be?

Say you're planning to build a house on a plot of land. You get the blueprints together, gather the materials, hire some help, and get ready to build. But disaster strikes--an earthquake--and shifts the topography on the piece of land, crushing the limestone beneath the surface and making the formerly smooth plot jagged and sloped. Do you continue to build the house there using the same blueprint, materials, and help? Or do you draw up new plans? Get better materials? Hire more specialized help? Or do you decide maybe to find another plot of land? Or maybe decide to wait a bit and build the house when you come across a better, more stable property?

This is the whatI see lacking here. The conservatives here are going on with their ceaseless Clinton bashing and optimism about the impeachment process as if no shift in topography had taken place. News flash: The impeachment strategy failed! Try something else. Or maybe try nothing at all and bide time till something better comes along.
