Humbly report, ztect, my hat is off, excellent research!!!

I should have clarified, and posted my assumption that by pointing out the downloads from one particular site, I did not mean to imply that was the whole market for y2k PC fixes as I see them, but I see I did, by saying "2% of it."

I meant to use it as an example of "a" site that is administered by a "popular" and "well known" entity, and I therefore meant to imply that the PINC entity's 100,000 per month figure is, to me, unrealistic. That's all.

Anyway, I agree with most all the other possibilities you present, but come to a different conclusion.

"The Bug" is a feared beast. Many know about it, many more will, and most all of them will get scared.

When people get scared in computer land, they don't run to some PINC outfit, they run to the pros. The trusted moms and dad's that are always there to put the bandaid on the owie. That give support. For example - #reply-6376709.

Will PINC get to sit at the table, and get a piece of the pie? Maybe. But it will have to provide support on a scale proportional to the demand. If not, word of mouth will kill'em.

Read the posts by Robert and Susie when they tried the PINC stuff. Both of them called in with questions. One is a fighter pilot instructor, the other a teacher. Above average intelligence, in our society, most would agree.

Ringy dingy. 100,000 times a month, or more? Both Robert and Susie called more than once.

Yup, "reliable" and "support" will be the keywords, as far as I can tell. And that's what the unnamed sources tell me. I will not name them, as you asked, because I have received their information second hand, and do not have permission from either one.

But who cares about my sources. You can verify what I have said, and point out if my sources are right or wrong. Facts, not voices.

Competition, the company they keep, exaggeration, dilution, that's what keeps me form investing here.

Clean? ;-)

Cheers,

Svejk
