I have been wondering how all the people that are buying generators intend to fuel them.
I am sure that most generators purchased are gasoline. How many gallons of gas will
these people be storing around the house? If we truly have major grid power outages,
where do these people think they will find gasoline? The service stations require power
also.

well you can also modify them to run on propane; which has several advantages (longer storage life; possibly safer to store).

Those guys now buying generators will have to buy a LOT of fuel before Y2k. Keeping gasoline in a private place can be quite dangerous I think.
In a 'Edwards 7-10' scenario (see c.s.y2k); gold might well be a medium of exchange; apart from bartering with with goods. Good examples are Russia; Bosnia in recent years.
