Sandra, let us know if there is a site that you need an URL for in reconstructing your bookmarks. You were up on the wrong night by the way. Tonight's sky is going to be very interesting.
Back to stocks. More internet IPOs. From today's NY Times:
More Internet Offerings Waiting in the Wings
Investors kicking themselves for not being in on last week's initial offerings of Earthweb and Theglobe.com -- which finished the week up 378.6 percent and 605.6 percent, respectively -- may want to keep this thought in mind: There's more where those two came from.
Nineteen Internet companies tracked by Commscan LLC, a New York research firm, plan to tap the public market, hoping to raise a total of $826.9 million.
Five of the companies have already set tentative schedules. Among them is Ticketmaster Online-Citysearch, an online provider of event ticketing and local city guides. It hopes to raise $63 in an offering planned for early December.
Other big names on the list include Prodigy Communications, the Internet access provider, which hopes to raise $86.3 million, and Marketwatch.com, a Web-based news provider, which hopes to bring in $34.5 million. Neither has set a specific time for its offering.
Through Thursday, Commscan said, 30 Internet companies had raised a total of $1.6 billion this year, returning an average of 74 percent. |
