In your analogy, I assume you mean that the limestone, and the changes it undergoes, are similar to the changing voting patterns of the population, etc.
But, what of the bedrock which underlies the whole of society? The bedrock of The Rule of Law. And that NO ONE in this society, not even (read: most emphatically not) the chief law enforcement officer of this society, the President of the United States, should be above the law.
If the lawless, conniving, lying, arrogant sleaze perpetrated by the present occupants of the white house goes unpunished, the bedrock of this society, it's rules of law, will shatter and splinter. This society will further degrade on the path to lawless chaos.
I'm approaching my 60th year. I'll probably be mere dust within the next 20 years, or so. So, I'll be gone, hopefully, before it gets too bad.
You younger folks better pay more attention to what's happening to the society in which you live. Your life, and your children's lives may soon be at risk. |
