Quantum theory was not refuted or confirmed by quips between elderly physicists, but by slow spadework of math and physical experiment.

Is question being raised about the entire bacterial and viral theory of disease? Does anyone question that smallpox is caused by variola? tuberculosis by mycobacterium? syphilis by a spirochaete? Or the "black death" by Yersinia? All these diseases are no more well established and proven than HIV/aids, which is to say about as proven as Evolution, or that the sun will come up tomorrow.

What should we say to the folk of African countries, when half of the population is dying, and funerals with slender corpses are everywhere?
Hysterical phenomena?

Go get a basic textbook, you can see by electron microscopy the virus injecting itself, filling the cell and bursting out in masses. You can measure the billions of HIV in the blood and correlate that with symptom severity...and on and on. I treat aids patients, come on down and see if this coffee house theorizing will help them, or protease inhibitors.

Whatever notions one chooses to entertain, I would advise safe sex.

And that lovely fox in the neighborhood, make sure it doesnt bite you,
you may come down with the only other totally fatal viral disease. Or do you not believe in Rabies either.
