Sean, you seem to be well-versed in a number of TA programs, so I'm wondering if you can help. (Anyone else who has an answer, please respond also.)
I am currently using MS 6.5. In the system tester, an entry/exit point for a trade is either the open/hi/lo/cl for a certain day after your parameters are met. I was wondering if you know of any software that will system test based on a entry/exit point that might be a specific price based on a custom formula.
For example, in MS, say that I want to exit a long trade if the stoch goes over 80 (specified in the "exit long" area). As soon as the stoch > 80, it triggers the exit based on your "trade price" option of open/hi/lo/cl, completely overriding your trailing stop.
What I am looking for is a tester that will trigger entry/exit points based on a specific price only if that price is touched. For example, say that my criteria for going long is met. I only want to enter that trade if I can get it at a certain specific price, just not my choice of open/hi/lo/cl. That specific price is the price that a custom indicator that I use comes up with.
Does such a creature exist? Am I asking for too much? Thanks, Debra |
