Agreed. Although, if this thing works out like the pr states, the co will have difficulty in protecting the process... especially if analogs can be found in earlier forms of coaxial and fiber schemes... post laser modulation, etc.
The more profound effects, I believe, will be to break the lock that the industry now has been subjected to by yet another seemingly cast in stone approach, namely WDM, to increasing transport capacity on fiber. |
