Digital Video Bit Rate CLARIFICATION
After re-reading my post # 57, I'd like to clarify that the bit rates I used were pre-MPEG, and reflective of those which would be placed onto SONET backbones, using the T3 format of 44.736 Mb/s, or ~ 45 Mb/s.
In systems that have been adapted for MPEG, MPEG II the bit rates for digital video are considerably lower than 45 Mbps (with corresponding quality and performance tradeoffs, imo), and these MPEG-grade streams could be anywhere from 1.5 Mb/s, 2.0 Mbps, 3.15 Mb/s, to 6.3 Mb/s [or higher], typically. |
