Bill, if your "beef" question had to do with the 00, I was referencing the Y2K problem.

OTOH, if you want to know what I think about COYE, where's their beef?

I had some personal contact with these folks last year before the name change and the re-profiling they did. The make-over.

I've been impressed for a number of reasons. Last year at roughly this time when they were still Sattel, they were ill prepared to discuss IP and the convergence issue on any level at all. Ditto for SUMA and XLSW. Sattel took us on a tour of a carrier location that was using their workhorse switch, but it wasn't what our client was looking for. Rugged, reliable, but it lacked extensibility to the new model which is now emerging.

In a very short time they have retooled and been able to keep pace with the improvements that the other players in this space have implemented.Granted, this is not a very comprehensive account of their current state of affairs, but it did at least show me that they were not the same old supplier they once were.

Further to this, I am aware of a number of pending situations that include this company on their short list. One next gen carrier with established hooks elsewhere in the industry is talking in very favorable terms about them. Ordinarily, this would not be noteworthy for a larger player, but here we have for all intents and purposes a startup, or at least one that has the appearances of one, and I am impressed. These are only my gut feels at this time.

Maybe someone else could add to this or provide some counterpoint?
