While it has been true in the past that 99% of BB companies never make it (and worse, a considerable number of them are simply frauds), I believe the explosion of on-line trading and increased ease of buying and selling the issues provides much needed liquidity to this area of the market, which should serve to minimize MM abuses over time. With increased liquidity also comes increases visibility, which indicates that more and better market regulation may gradually transform this den of thieves into a respectable market. I would like to see enhanced reporting requirements for BB stocks, even while recognizing that some allowance should still be made for the companies' abilities to bear the costs. Such enhanced reporting is certainly doable with the great improvements we have seen in technology over the last 10-15 years.
