If direct doesn't go for them, do you think they would be shooting themselves in the foot by not getting the build-up of deliveries to their distributors?

OTOH -- what if CPQ is not doing this? Where are the chip orders coming from? Other boxmakers report how long it takes to turn inventory, right? How much can one rely on these numbers? At any rate -- we only get these numbers after the fact, right? And nobody wants to get caught short for Christmas.

I'm still somewhat puzzled by INTC's statements. Seems like it really would leave a lot of room for them to fall on their face, if something wasn't up.
