Another part of this is the speed and effectiveness on cancellations, however. My experience with Brown and Company has been very positive in this area. I have repeatedly had the experience of cancelling an order and then within seconds the stock goes through the price and I do not get an execution. Another aspect of this is the fairness of challenging orders which you feel are improperly executed. Brown is consistently fair with me in this area as well.

It has been a little while since I posted to this thread. Brown went through a system upgrade and then a fire in their main office in Boston and those were six rocky days. Since that time the system has performed admirably.

For active traders, they are very fine indeed. There are plenty of ways they can improve, as I mentioned in an earlier post. I would not have been with Brown since 1989 if they were not reliable.
