Yeah, I'm always sceptical about those very bullish scenarios, too. So is Bill J #reply-6427231 - but it is true that the huge overhanging supply of silver at the turn of the century is drying up - correction - has almost completely dried up ... and also true that it isn't as easy to ramp up production in silver as in other metals. As to what exactly the stockpile is or what the short position is at this moment is hard to say, it's a murky sort of market and I don't think anybody posting to SI knows.

But I don't accept the strongly bearish scenario, either - for one thing, analog camera use will increase in developing economies, imho. It'll be quite a while before digital even makes a dent in Ag consumption here in Gringolandia. So I do think it makes sense to hold some sort of low-cost position in silver, this is why I have a few Minefinders shares, some pfg, and bits of several others. Looks like silver at Terra could form part of mgr's future - not the major part of why I've been picking up mgr, but not insignificant either. The 4mil shares of asc are interesting as well, imho. I do think this one looks good in my little bottom-fishing basket, but each to their own.

That Dynatec I mentioned the other day has moved up a bit, gwx still cheap though -g-
