Alan,
"God is my support not myself if this seems weak to you so be it. God is my rock........"
I do not see you as weak, on the contrary. I just see you as having discarded the old Alan, and the strength you now find in yourself is the new you, united with God. I just no longer see the two of you as being separate any longer. But as to evil, as in Nancy's story, if you forgive evil, what is left? Love. Jesus taught that as we forgive ourselves, we must forgive others, for they know not. Once we do so, the evil disappears, and we see the light that was underneath all along.
A rock who stands against the stream of life is no stronger or weaker than a rock who would seek to roll with it. You will not be swept away, even if you roll with the tide.
In short 'Don't worry, be happy'. See the light in things, not the dark. But if you ARE happy now, you are happy. Keep on rocking. : )
