Ish , Never heard of taking carp in this manner.Sounds like a tremendous amount of fun. Although carp are suppose to be bottom feeders [I always assumed worms snails and the like ] I guess that nymphs or any wet flies wouldn't be out of the question. The idea of getting such big fish on a fly rod is really exciting.
