All this of course if just my opinion, but hey that's what this forum is for.
On Walmart:
Walmart was hunky dory with objectionable language UNTIL the objectionable language included lyrics about a kid buying a gun at Walmart! LMAO! Sorry, about laughing but it's just so typical of big business. So now if there is a special Walmart edition of Duke it wouldn't surprise me. It sounds like a Catch-22 for them. They can't just delete objectionable material that contains a naughty Walmart reference and save face so it all has to go!! The complexity toward a special Walmart edition is probably quite benign. Most likely just some deletion of code. If not properly implemented it could produce some snags and this is probably what has occurred if there is indeed a special Walmart edition. Personally, I wouldn't poo-poo anything sold by Walmart. Let's face it, they sell everything in quantity and I suspect games are no exception. BTW, most of the GT titles are offered at the Price/Costcos, another large distribution channel and the price is only about $5 bucks cheaper than any computer software store.

On Sierra:
I opted for Gabriel Knight 2-The Beast Within. I don't know if you have played it but I have to say this is by far the most unique game experience that I have encountered in a long time. The acting is superb, the play is fluid but it has one major flaw. This software is just too damn buggy. Don't know if you have played it but there is a chance that you could get through 4 chapters of the game which is considerable playing time and end up having to install a patch file that makes your saved games inoperable. Needless to say even though I give high cudos to the makers this little nuance is enough to make most people a bit disenchanted. To make matters worse, when you go to the Sierra site on the web they advise not installing a patch unless you have to. Wonderful. At least for Sierra's sake it occurred in the 4th chapter, by then you are already somewhat hooked. One thing I have noticed about Duke, Doom etc. is that they are usually very clean as far as major bugs are concerned but of course these games don't come close to the requirements of a game completely based in MPEGS. An interesting side note on GB2TBW, I have found out that the more graphic scenes were completely edited out from the German version! Most likely the Germans didn't cater to their country being the focus of a werewolf story and felt it bad publicity! Have you run into any problems with Lords? I do know that Phantasmagoria 2 on Sierra's support page has some rather interesting posts by users. There are quite a few unhappy campers from what I gather. I think that a mix between GK2's format and Duke Nukem could provide an interesting concept. Bloody, but interesting!

So what do you think of the Atomic Edition's box? Maybe a bit of form over substance? After all, 3/4 of the game has already been released in prior versions. Kind of like "Look at me, I'm old but I have some new stuff!" No surprise the box can be seen from a mile away!
