The point of my post was not the size of the banana or the weight of the shipment and not where the bananas came from or how much charity the Europeans owe their former colonies. The whole point was when self interest was concerned ( and the EU has whatever interest in biasing its banana imports ) the EU will go with self interest and their parochial needs rather that furthering what would be fair and equitable world trade and will maintain and justify that position for a verrrrryyy long time. This is why it would be better to come to a compromise on the issue of 3G before all the kids start to hold their breath until they become purple.
