Good morning everyone. I've been hearing some talk (over on RB anyway) to the effect that there'd better some big announcement at COMDEX or else. Well, it would be nice to get more news, but I'm not counting on it. I'll take a weeks worth of great publicity and deal-making. It will be interesting to see how the week plays out, at any rate.

In the mean time, I took a peak back at the Embassy FAQ page (http://www.wave.com/embassy/information.html) to try to get a better handle on where IBM is in all of this. The paragraph on the subject (which I'd bet money has been looked over by IBM's lawyers) is worth a second look. There are some interesting little clues in there:

<<Wave Systems and IBM are continuing to work together under the terms of the original agreement. Over the past months IBM has provided significant input and requirements to Wave Systems regarding the design of the EMBASSY platform. IBM has chosen not to make any specific product announcements at this time. In addition, Wave Systems is pursuing additional relationships with a number of areas within IBM.>>

1) IBM provided both input and "requirements" regarding the design of embassy. Very interesting word, requirements. Says to me that they've got a degree of control over the process, which says to me that they're very invested in how it develops.

2) IBM has "chosen" not to make product announcements "at this time." Says to me that they they will be making announcements.

3) Wave is pursuing relationships with "a number of areas within IBM" -- that one just plain intrigues me. What kind of areas beyond the pc design might they be dealing with? Anyone have any thoughts on this?

I know that Marty is less than optimistic about where things are going with IBM, but I like the prospects. It's just hard to wait. Anyway, here's hoping for a good week to all my friends!
