Identicator Unveils Suite of Fingerprint Identification Products for the
PC

SAN BRUNO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 16, 1998--Identicator Technology, the leading designer and developer
of biometric identification systems, today announced the BioLogon(tm) Suite of fingerprint identification products, designed
to enhance personal authentication security systems for network and client workstation users.

''With the introduction of the BioLogon Suite, Identicator is taking fingerprint identification into a new realm by expanding its application in the business
enterprise,'' said Grant Evans, Vice President of Marketing and Sales for Identicator. ''Identicator is committed to developing powerful and effective biometric
solutions and combining them with emerging technology to provide an unparalleled level of security features for the enterprise and PC users.''

Identicator will begin shipping the BioLogon Suite of products in the first quarter of 1999.

The BioLogon Suite consists of several feature-rich products aimed at increasing the security level of personal computer identification systems, which require
the use of a fingerprint instead of a PIN or traditional password. The new family of biometric software includes:

BioLogon(tm) 2.0 - An enterprise software application solution for user authentication replacing the password. The BioLogon 2.0 solution provides the
highest level of user authentication with flexibility and choice in configuring users' access to an enterprise network or local computer. BioLogon 2.0 offers
logon options using a combination of a fingerprint or in combination with other authentication methods password, smartcard etc, either individually or in
conjunction with one another at the client as well as enterprise wide through the security administration policy management. Other features include
remote system administration and fingerprint validation on any domain controller, as well as encrypted data exchange between a workstation and domain
controller.
BioShield - Requiring no custom programming, BioShield allows users to protect any application with the touch of a finger. If the application is already
protected with a password, a user can choose to be identified by a fingerprint instead. Additionally, with the BioShield toolbox, fingerprint verification
can be attached to application start-up, menu item selection and button access in the application or toolbar.
BioCrypt - A password protected application can be configured by BioCrypt to recall a password and insert it automatically into an application when a
user's fingerprint is verified. BioCrypt can be used to generate extensive encryption and decryption algorithms with the touch of a finger by encrypting
user data and requiring a fingerprint for decryption, allowing for multiple files and directories to be easily selected and encrypted/decrypted for a single
operation.
BioCard - Combining the use of a smart card with the protection of fingerprint identification, BioCard creates a closed loop security product by
unequivocally tying the user's fingerprint to the smart card. BioCard also makes it possible to store confidential or proprietary information on the card
itself.

Each product is linked to a fingerprint reader or scanner (Identicator's DFR200(tm)) that is integrated into a PC peripheral device such as a keyboard, mouse
or standalone unit, such as those offered by Compaq Computer Corporation, Key Tronic Corporation and Shuttle Technology. The reader captures the image,
the software then processes the image and extracts the fingerprint features (called minutia), encrypts the template and interfaces with other industry accepted
security technology such as PKI's and SSL technology and stores the information. The system then verifies and authenticates the user by comparing the
captured image to the image stored in the template. The system then provides the security service called upon in the application, such as network access,
application lock or encryption service.

Identicator is the first company to develop and market fingerprint identification technology for secure user authentication on PCs. The company's
fingerprint-based ''password for life'' serves as a replacement for the traditional password, offering the most viable, secure and user-friendly solution for PC
based fingerprint identification systems. While passwords can be easily misplaced or duplicated and must be changed frequently, fingerprints are unique to
every individual.
