Jozef: But the phone would have been updated automatically with the number, wouldn't it? ( I already have an over 100 number memory in my phone, which includes my mother, although not first choice!).That's the idea behind Bluetooth. Forms of smartphones or PDA/phones will continue (it is nothing new), it is actually the way that we use the devices: Separate or not?

The nature of combining various technologies, today, would make a less usable system. This is not to say that we will not eventually have an all-in-one device, but we are a little way from that now. Even Nokia have a mobile phone with radio!! What is gimmick and what is useful? The original Communicator had the features, but I replaced mine -as it "wasn't all things to all men" gadgets.

Bluetooth concepts include wearing communication devices as jewelry or accessories. This is just part of it, the days of "Star Trek" communication is here, although it will be a struggle for anyone's acceptance (as per the mobile phone anyway). This point is to show that not only can we have all-in-one devices, but we can also split what we think is one device into its component parts.

The user, of course, will satisfy their respective needs. In my opinion the all-in-one device is impractical (at the moment). I certainly do not have a PDA with the performance of my Think Pad for starters. One day maybe, the idea of the pdQ maybe something hot (read new) in the US, it isn't really anywhere else. The execution of having these devices though, will be something that we shall read over the next few years: Separate or not. TV's, Hi-Fi, computers and phones have already been tried as a combined item. It is not accepted yet, but maybe one day....but then why should they, when you have a WLAN in your house or on the move. Separate technology, will let you choose the best component of each. It is a good idea, no?
