Hi Wilse, and all! Re. the vegetation anomalies, it is only one of the various indicators that are part of the pursuit of the diamond host rock. For an example of one such veggie anom, and an explanation as to how the increased level of phosphorous from the kimberlite may cause the dominant poplars to take over the evergreens, see this link:

marumresources.com
"Similar vegetation anomalies occur over known kimberlite pipes around the world since weathering releases the elevated amounts of phosphorous found in the pipes into the soil. This fertilizer allows the more predatory species, such as poplar, to overwhelm the less aggressive conifers."

Smart guy, Wilse, one your posed theories seems to apply!
------
Mike Dufresne (of AGS) has spent a lot of time theorizing, sampling, testing and analyzing the geology of Alberta and published "The Diamond Potential of Alberta, Bulletin #63" in 1996, with a couple follow-up publications since. He has been finding interesting relationships to this end. Mike is working closely with Marum, heading up field operations.
-------
Ray, Marum has several land claims in the area, and if and when CG lets their jv obligations expire (which is likely), MMU will then have 100% of those claims, prior to any further jv's. Let me repeat what the company told me a while back, and that I posted here, now:
==
Firstly, Marum management does really like and respect the CaribGold people and would like them to remain in the project, but that's not likely since CG would have to spend $250,000 more by yearend and pay Marum some shares. On the other hand, MMU president Rick Boulay says that Marum really would not mind getting the property back since none of the new 200m-spacing anomalies have been drilled. Either way, it has been a really good deal for Marum: a private placement, a drill program, and a 200m survey and lots of promising targets.
==
Beyond that, MMU has 50/50 jv's on several prospective blocks in the area with Micrex (MIX), and many 100% ownership as well. Still more, they have arms-length relationships with more private lease-holders in the area.

Regards,

PS, I have received private questions whether I might possibly be recieving special bonuses etc from Marum for my efforts here.

Let me set the record straight.

Quite honestly, I have no ties to the company other than being a common shareholder. I have been invested in the ADP for some time, includng Ashton since it was IPO'd. I have held shares in many participants. As I did more research I learned more and more of course, and realized how much Marum fully understands this play. IMO, president Rick Boulay has a fine reputation and is highly talented, capable, and dedicated. And in my experience Marum is one of the FEW companies involved that are fully aware, and honest, about the geological realities in the area.

I have received NO incentives, no stock options, nothing from Marum or any other company. I am only a private investor. The "open line" to Marum president Rick Boulay is simply due to his willingness to listen and respond to shareholders for the sake of the company. That is it. I have come to appreciate this company for what it is, and I completely believe that Marum would not be a party to any such clandestine promotional activities.

Finally, when you deal with honourable people such as Rick Boulay and Marum, you feel motivated to share it with others. That's what I am doing here (mind you, as a shareholder). Marum is an open company making its best effort to achieve the goals at hand-- finding diamonds!
:*)

There is plenty of misinformation out there! ;) Do your own investigation, folks. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised as to Marum's forthright and diligent efforts, as I was, and am!
