Tom, GM is an IOM bull. So GM is poking fun at Abelson's negativity.

And like you imply, Alan Abelson (Barron's editor) is often a contrary indicator for the market and for individual stocks.

PS--Maybe I should add that GM is flexible. He is variously called G, GM, Gottfried. But a very nice person, overall.
