I agree that what we are buying is the technology not the numbers. But the numbers are the results of past decisions and a gauge of the efficacy of the management might be made from them. I really based my decision to short more on Friday on the conference call. I did not feel the management addressed the issues and they sounded unctuous to me. The questions seemed set up and then the moderator saying there were no more questions, bothered me. As a aside, I made the same decision on LBOR's management and so far am buried there.
I wish I had the faith that you or Pluvia and some of the others have as to the prospects of this stock. It is the same as my wife's religion- she is so sure she is right that life is easy for her. I have had that faith twice after studying companies (exchanges) and the numbers- the Nikkei puts on the Amex in 1989 and IBUY (thanks to A Goldfinger) this year. Both of those were so obvious that they were lay-ups. In all the rest of my investments I am scared to death that I have missed something. I have been rereading all the posts (including Yahoo- what a swamp pit that is!) trying to be persuaded. What I really would like is for someone from my old home town of Las Vegas to drop in at the Electronics show this week or at the San Diego conference next month and report objectively as to the prospects of the company.
