Theif the Dark Project goes Gold

will be in stores in a few weeks
distributed by Eidos, according
to www.avault.com

Theif is suppose to be an interesting
twist on the Quake2 like games out
there. Here you actually need to avoid
being noticed, and fragging baddies.
I just might be the sneak hit of the
season. So far few publications have
given it much ink, but we'll see.
There was no published Demo for this
title, which may mean the engine was
too big to make portable. Same thing
happened with Wing Commander Prophecy
from EA. That puppy was over 100MB,
which is about 3 times the typical
demo download. There may be 16mil
cable modem capable people out there,
but only 100,000 of them actually
signed up, so very large Demos only
make it to the hands of people with
access to Corporate Networks and the
Zip Disks to take demo's home...
