I was in Port Washington, Wisconsin in the 70s when a guy brought in a 25 pound brookie. Caught it down 60' over 100' of water on a spoon. Yes I know, the world record is about 6 pounds and brookies are stream fish. What happened was that in those days all the left over milt and roe from the stocking program was mixed and dumped in the lake as "tiger trout". An autopsy found this fish to be a Chinook Salmon/Brook Trout cross. DNA of a King with the shape and coloring of a Brook Trout.
