Weekend Box Office results:

No 1 - The Waterboy - $25 million
............
......
................
No. 7 - I'll Be Home for Christmas - $4 million
.....

However this was Waterboys second weekend and I'll Be Home For Xmas's first - it opened in 1,759 cinema's for an average take of $2,274. Pretty poor results - probably won't last until Christmas.
Critics did not really like the film. USA Today gave it ** out of a possible ****

Hollywood Reporter discarded it as another "sugary-sweet and family-safe yuletide comedy that tramples credibility and eschews coherent storytelling."
They had nothing positive to say about JTT - but didn't slam him either.

However some great comments from industry operators:

"Youth continues to be served," Sony distribution head Jeff Blake said. "Inexpensive films with stars that appeal to young people --
Chris Tucker ('Rush Hour'), Adam Sandler, Jennifer Love Hewitt and Brandy ('I Still Know...') -- are the films that are doing great
boxoffice this fall. Everything is inside-out this year."

This bodes well for us with Speedway Junky, which should generate interest from JTT fans looking to see him in a serious and very different role. From motor sports fans.....? Also if anyone is still hung up on Darryl Hannah I guess they'll check it out and Amber-Thiessen will draw too....

Depends who gets it and how big the marketing is......

But as it made the Hollywood Reporter A list - we can be sure that it's not truly chronic - even with only mediocre reviews we might see this open with $5-$8 million for a 3 day weekend

By the time it's out of the US Theatres and into the video stores - I would guesstimate - $14-$28 million for a 3 day weekend.
Just playing with numbers......

AND
Great news on the SEC filing. No precise dates and no named auditor is a problem.
Anyone get the feeling that the discussions on this board and investor concerns may have had some part to play in Benz's comments? Just a wee bit eh?
I suggest we keep up the pressure and get a precise date and the name of the auditors. Also pressure for precise details of any deals struck over Speedway and Delta.

Hope y'all had good weekend.
