25lb Brookie Egad!I don't care what it's DNA is. That would be a sight to see. Indeed. Brookies are stocked heavily on the east coast where I grew up but the coloring of hatchery fish are pretty drab. My dad use to take me to the Beaverkill on camping trips . I would follow the little feeder streams catching the most colorful Brookies along the way. Although I have always held the Browns in awe for their ability to grow and flourish in small streams. And resident Brown Trout with their bright golden belly and red spots and proclivity for the fly are my over all favorite.But A native Brookie has a coloring and pattern that are in a league all of their own. Unfortunately for them they unlike the wily Brown are, as I'm sure you know, dumb as dirt. pez
