That has to be one of the dumber things I've seen when it is made in reference to a Microsoft project. Think Lotus 1-2-3, Wordperfect, Netscape, Stac, ... . This is not an endorsement of Microsoft's tactics, but realistically it is a very very bad idea to bet against them.

Note that this also show's the analyst's (Cabi?) misunderstanding of the JV. It isn't about handsets per se, but about being an ISP for businesses (a service provider) which allows he two parents to sell equipment and software. This JV is better compared to EDS or AOL or even the remade IBM, rather than a handset provider.
