Check out this news from chiptech.com
98/11/13, 1:07pm - Thought I should mention: First silicon is expected to be completed at the new Dresden K7 "Fab 30" by 99/01/23. Coming along rather nicely, I see. The Fab will start at 0.22um process and move down to 0.18um.
98/11/13, 11:54am - Emergency-quick update on that AMD Analyst meeting! Here's some quick info I'll review it all and post up lots more (hopefully) when I get some quality time to do so: K7's lower cost chipset is codenamed Irongate, and it's fully functional K7 might be moved up to a Q1'99 release(!!!!!!!!!) due to OEM pressure. It indeed is 184sqmm (sorry, Dave!), but will be under 100sqmm when it goes to 0.18um.
<end of quote>

Just a quick comment. If Fab30 is "starting at 0.22 um" doesn't this imply that their first silicon on 1/23 will be the K7? AFAIK, the K7 is the only 0.22µ chip that AMD has, unless the higher speed K6-2's just announced are 0.22.
