yes. I was surprised at how poorly the AMD products performed in benchmark tests. Sometimes people don't make the most intelligent purchasing decisions. So, if the consumer believes that a pc running off an AMD microprocessor will be equal to the same box with an Intel of equal stated performance, and if the AMD box saves them $, AMD will do fine. If people started thinking that the perfomance of AMD things were less than stated once pc's were built around them, then maybe AMD would do less well. I don't recall where I saw the test results, and given the plethora of web sites covering the topic, trade rags, etc., I will never find it.
