Like what?
NON NT programs ...Coastal Oceanographics Hypack $10000 +/-, Hysweep $5000 +/- and until recently Spectra Precision Terramodel. Can not work without them, very few alternatives.

Dos??

interesting. most of the whole EDA (Eletronic Design automation) industry has been highly unix centric for 15 years. Many companies have now have significant PC offerings mostly on NT. I have 3 packages on my PC that only run on NT and not 95. Despite the cheap nature PC's haven't caught on in our industry for high end cad work. The CPU's are fast but the overall memory capacity and IO thoughput are still not adequate. 2Gig+ processes sizes are becoming increasingly common. A small but growing group are porting to linux for these tools but its still a small market. EDA as a whole is only a 3.2 Billion a year business.
