Dave, I'm not sure here, but what if each Zip has a kind of unique serial number that cannot be changed with normal storage writes from regular Zip drives. Then the coded music/message/whatever would have that serial number as part of the encryption key; and could only be decoded from that single disk. I don't know if this is what's done though.
