US interests in Malaysia taking a hit in today's paper:
1 CLINTON'S HOTEL BILL POSER (who gonna pay boss???)

2 GORE'S REFERENCE TO 'REFORMASI' MET WITH STRONG REBUKE FROM RAFIDAH

3. NAJIV: ALBRIGHT'S ACTION INAPPROPRIATE

4. SYQUEST STAFF TOLD TO FIND OTHER JOBS (factory locked after two week forced furlow)

5. "SPEECH" BY GORE REFLECTS CLINTON'S VIEWS

Commenting on what all this indicates or if Gore made points with the 'Reformasi' bunch. This Saturday you can tell if it has had an impact. Check out the condo where I live for a). more than one police helicopter in the air b). The density of the smoke from the burning police motorcycles and old tyres etc. etc. c). is more than one gunshot heard. All of course from Kampung Baru (the heart of Malaysia, where the democratic movement started in the 60's) our own Berkley and Kent State all in one.

Would love to comment on one of your earlier posts, but its tough to bite the hand that feeds you! (at least the expense money ;-)))
