Bernard,

In addition, John Hull never responded to the possibility that Intel might announce the intention to split with the caveat that the split would be pending shareholder approval (to increase the number of authorized shares). An actual split (greater than 5 for 3) CANNOT happen before the shareholders vote on additional shares, but I sitll wonder if the intention to split can be announced before that time. The announcement is what will give the stock a short term boost, not so much the actual split itself. BTW, this is probably only of concern to traders since a stock split in and of itself doesn't change anything fundamentally and over the long run the split should not have any material affect on the value of the stock.

Good luck to all,

FF
