It looks like the ASE is going to keep throwing banana peels on the road until the financiers give up waiting and pass the deal on to someone else. Why are they doing this? I speculate that from the point of view of the ASE, whose Board of Directors are mainly from member brokerage firms, an outside financing of this magnitude would certainly set an ugly precedent.
As a shareholder I still have a lot of difficulty understanding why the bureaucrats insist on protecting us from the wicked merchant bank who wants to throw $40 million at us to pursue this technical wood hardening folly.
I hope the boys can do this deal through the back door as I understand that is what they have been working on the last few days.
