Amazon's "new site" is Lame, lame, lame . . .

The BIG $280+ million acquisition of Junglee and Planetall haven't netted much to add to Amazon's site. Take a look; amazon.com

The reports of electronic stuff is highly exagerated - the only thing I found were books about computers, Palm-Pilots and the like. Maybe books about household goods qualifies as being a fair replacement - people can visualize heating up a pop-tart in their convection oven book! Probably all the hype came down to the reality that toaster ovens and other things are messy to deal with and don't have the margins of books and music. Bezos' seems to be saying, "Promise them anything but sell them books or music. Play music, drive books, profess music, eat books."

The shopping service search engine gives you a selection of . . . guess what? - books! This is what Investors spent years of profits for?
