I think the 1,500 patents is referring to the 50 pages of claims in the ARIB proposal for W-CDMA that Walt was referring to in Message 6427236 . I thought of Walt's post when I was reading the WSJ article, but just reread it now. As usual this group is a few days ahead of the mainstream press. The mainstream press tends to blur things in the reporting. You'd think as part of the internet revolution information will be exchanged first hand rather than through reporters. As part of that vision, I just started up a discussion site that is focused on industry issues and business-to-business discussions. It's not a financial site at all, but it may be of interest to people here who have real jobs on the side water-cooler.com Jim
