A couple more comments... if the V3 is really banshee 2 (which it certainly seems to be), that still leave's our friend , Rampage, un-announced. I have the feeling that 3dfx is pulling an interesting stunt here... we may well see V3 shipping in 1Q 99 (Speculation on my part), and Rampage possibly shipping to board makers (more speculation) in 2Q. By projecting the date for V3 into Q2, 3dfx is likely trying to reduce the impact of the announcement on existing sales of V2 and Banshee. One other note... with V3 selling at $35-$45 a pop, does 3dfx intend to continue banshee 1 (using .35, and only 2 million transistors), as a low end ($10-20) part in 99? It could easily have a product family covering the entire spectrum of the graphics market.
