Your 100% correct. I canceled my account today. I live in the Northeast. Since Christmas eve. It took me on average over 1 hour to get connected to the Web via AOL. Many times I had to call a number way outside my calling area just to send an email to AOL in order to advise them that their service ****ed. Sometimes the number you had to call to get other access numbers was even busy. When you selected a web page you waited on average of 1 to 3 minutes for data to return. Many times you got an error message. Then without notice when you finally got connected the service would automatically disconnect.

Yip. AOL is a great service if you want to do your computing at between 1 a.m. and 3 a.m. (EST) in the morning. If anyone has a half of brain they will be dumping AOL any day now, because they are getting ripped off.

When the guy at AOL service asked me why I was quiting. I told him the response time ****ed. I also told him from a public realations standpoint and marketing standpoint AOL should have been ready for the increased demand before it hit, not after the fact. Their phone message when you call the 800 number also cracks me up! They call themseleves the best service.

Shorts or puts (if available) on this stock and you will make a lot of money.

Now some people may ask what service I joined in the Northeast. I joined the Bell Atlantic Internet service. I do not know if their is less traffic today or what, but with a 28.8 modem I am getting just as good and as fast of a connection as the one in my office. My office is either 56kb or T1.
