High-grade zone intersected at Intiedougou
Orezone Resources Inc ORZShares issued 5,478,4291998-11-13 close $0.4Monday Nov 16 1998Mr. Ron Little reports The company has received encouraging results from a new zone of high grade gold mineralization that has been discovered about 1.5 kilometres northeast of the Intiedougou A zone discovery, on Orezone's Intiedougou property in Burkina Faso. Eight channel samples from a continuous zone of highly silicified/albitized, brecciated and mineralized bedrock exposed in a trench, returned the following values.

These samples were fire-assayed at the Intertek (Bondar-Clegg) Laboratory in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. The C zone trench is oriented east-west on a 1.4 g/t Au soil sample, at the north end of a 2.5km long, north-south trending soil anomaly. More detailed geochemical sampling is planned together with a ground magnetic geophysical survey, prior to drilling below the trench. A recent evaluation of the laterite profiles encountered on the Intiedougou permit, suggest that several other anomalies picked up by the regional (200m x 200m) geochem survey indicate potential for the discovery of significant bedrock mineralization within a wide anomalous zone adjacent to the Intiedougou fault. Orezone holds the exploration rights covering over 80km of the Intiedougou fault zone, which is rapidly turning into one of a series of major new plays in West Africa. In Northern Burkina Faso, Orezone has commenced a soil sampling and trenching program on its Kerboule property, prior to drilling. Kerboule covers the northern extensions of the Inata shear zone (Belahoura permit) where the Resolute/BHP joint venture is currently undertaking fill-in drilling to further delineate a +1 million ounces Au oxide resource. A recent visit to Inata and Kerboule confirmed similarities in mineralized zones in a broad halo of intense sericite alteration adjacent to the Inata-Kerboule fault zone. Numerous artisanal workings are on quartz-stockwork lodes associated with the main fault zone, including a significant operation at Kerboule which is producing between 10 and 20 ounces Au per day from near surface quartz stockwork structures.
