Ron,

Don't know how close they are, but they occur at depths of 500-600 ft below the surface, whereas MGAU's are essentially at the surface. With the geological history of the area, it is possible that the original gold veins (as seen at depth) were uplifted and are now near surface at MGAU, but without more info that's a pretty large speculation, IMO.
