See the review in the current issue of PC Magazine regarding setting up simple ecommerce solutions.

We are planning to use Yahoo Store - previously Viaweb - very very simple to use - but you still need a merchant account to do the credit card transactions - I don't know any easy way to get that set up.

BTW - Unless you are selling downloadable software or access to a website then conducting instant transactions is not really worth it for a small outfit.
Better to get secure emails with the orders inside them and then process them manually into your sales order system.

Yahoo Store costs $100 a month for a 50 product store. You only need a browser to set up the site - they host it and do everything - amazingly simple - have setup up test sites in under 60 mins.
A good 50 product store could come together in 72 hours if you have your text and images ready.

Hope this is helpful.
