ESI Announces an Order from Pan Overseas for Multiple Miniature Capacitor Manufacturing Systems
Portland, Oregon (November 17, 1998) -- Electro Scientific Industries, Inc. (NASDAQ: ESIO) today announced a multiple system order from Pan Overseas Electronics, Ltd. for eight ESI Model CS325 Capacitor Termination Systems and three 3300 Capacitor Multi-Function Testers.

The systems will be installed at Pan Overseas' Taiwan factory to increase throughput rates and provide accurate handling of the smallest chip sizes used in advanced electronic devices.
