I'm using MS Internet Explorer, and to speed up TD Greenline's Webbroker, I set "View", "Internet Options", "Settings" (under "Temporary Internet Files"), "Check for newer versions of stored pages" to "NEVER".
The result is that the pages and graphics are cached on your hard drive. Graphics pop up instantly (once cached), and going page to page is much quicker. Note that if you keep this setting for other sites, eg Yahoo quotes, you will have to remember to "refresh" the pages so you are not looking at stale quotes. I've found this to be a better solution than turning off the graphics.
I've complained many times to TD about the slowness, the graphics, and especially the really, really, annoying spinning logo. I wish they would use "tables" like SI does. TD seems more interested in their web site being pretty rather than fast.
The feature I would most appreciate is instant updating of my account when I do a trade, instead of overnight batch updating. |
