Rocky, won't that also help a Zip250 or Zip100 drive differentiate between the two different disk capacities: kind of like the little hole in the upper left corner HD vs. DD floppies? I imagine the phosphorescence keeps the Zip100 drive from recognizing the reflective pattern through the window and not allowing it to be read/written by the 100MB drives, while possibly requiring little change to the actual sensor for the new drive to use both disks--just speculation on my part. "try and deter counterfeit Zip250 discs from being made" Would that be a bad thing? In what way is it convoluted? Later Chucky
