Steve,
A few more questions related to listed trading for you:

1) How many stocks is one specialist usually in charge of? Do they usually handle related stocks, i.e. several stocks in the oil sector or drug sector?

2) Is there any resource to find out what firm the specialist of a certain stock works for? And any way of finding out what other stocks that specialist is in charge of?

3) What is the relationship between the inside quote that we see and the specialists book? As the book changes does the quote automatically change, or does the specialist change the quote independently of what he/she has on the book?

4) I was watching a stock where ask was 24 15/16, size 1000, it prints 1000 at ask, ask upticks to 25, size 107,500. Within two seconds, size moved down to 50k. Was the specialist hiding the true size of selling interest, using a generic 50k size after accidentally giving a glimpse of selling interest recorded in his book? (Subsequent trades at ask did not change ask size, and totaled well over 50k)

regards,
Grn
