Dave, Not very bleak, but a long term plateau that drifts up and down gradually with speculative spikes here and there. Silver will certainly be mineable, possibly more so than gold as it gets used in reality.
Many of the third world countries actually skip the old generation and go directly to electronic methods, as has been done with phones going cellular. In addition the electronic cams can cost very little. They sell lower grade ones there with a few bad pixels for a lot less money and B&W pictures cost a penny or so froma printer and edit is cheap. With film you must print all. export of money is important as most are controlled so film must come from Japan or Kodak....US$ drain. Printers also drain, but they can be edited first and only the ones you wish printed. It will be a dramatic shift. Kodak has already sensed it and is going full boogy electronic, as have the Japanese firms. The huge film oligopoly will break and film will fade, but never vanish.
